What is a ductless mini-split?
An outdoor unit connects to one or more indoor units mounted in the rooms they serve. Refrigerant piping and electrical and communication wiring run between them, and a condensate line drains the water the indoor unit pulls from the air. Each space gets conditioned directly — no supply or return ducts needed for those rooms.

Common service considerations
Many ductless problems trace back to a few areas: dirty filters, a buildup on the indoor coil, a dirty outdoor coil, a slow or clogged condensate drain, restricted airflow, electrical or control faults, communication errors between the units, and refrigerant-related issues. Electrical and refrigerant work should be left to a licensed technician. Regular maintenance keeps most of these in check.
Mini-splits in Arizona
A long cooling season and high outdoor temperatures make equipment placement matter — shade and airflow around the outdoor unit help, and the coil needs to stay clear of dust and debris.
