FAQ

The questions Valley homeowners actually ask us — pricing, timing, troubleshooting and when it's time to stop repairing an old system.

Scheduling & response

How fast can you get here?
Most no-cool calls in our core service area get a same-day slot. During peak summer we hold emergency windows open every evening, and maintenance plan members go to the front of the line.

Pricing

What does a diagnostic cost?
$89 for a full system diagnostic, and we waive it entirely if you approve the repair. You'll see the repair price before we touch a single screw.
Do you charge extra for evenings or weekends?
Non-members pay a modest after-hours rate on emergency calls outside Mon–Sat 7am–7pm. Revival Comfort and Revival Total members never pay overtime.

Repair vs. replace

Should I repair or replace my system?
Our rule of thumb: if the repair costs more than a third of a new system and the unit is past 12 years old, replacement usually wins. We'll show you both numbers and let you decide — we don't work on commission.
How long should an AC system last in Arizona?
Twelve to fifteen years is realistic here, versus 15–20 in milder climates. Maintained systems land at the top of that range; neglected ones often fail around year 10.
What SEER rating should I buy?
For most Valley homes, 15–17 SEER2 is the efficiency sweet spot. Above that, the payback period usually stretches past the equipment's life unless your bills are unusually high.

Maintenance

How often should an Arizona system be serviced?
Twice a year. Our summers run equipment far harder than most of the country, and a spring tune-up is the single cheapest way to avoid an August breakdown.

Financing & payment

Do you offer financing?
Yes, on new system installations with approved credit. We'll walk through the monthly options during your free in-home estimate.
What forms of payment do you take?
Cash, check, all major credit cards, and financing on installs. Payment is due when the work is complete — we don't ask for deposits on repairs.

Licensing & trust

Are you licensed and insured?
Fully licensed, bonded and insured — ROC 123456. Every tech is background checked and drug tested.
Do you offer a warranty on repairs?
One year on parts and labor for repairs we perform. New installs carry the manufacturer's parts warranty — typically ten years once registered — plus our labor warranty.
Can you service a home warranty claim?
We work directly for homeowners rather than home warranty companies, so you're not waiting on an adjuster. We're happy to provide documentation if you're filing a claim yourself.
Will you tell me if I don't need the work?
Yes, and it happens often. Techs are paid hourly, not on commission, so there's no upside to selling you something you don't need.

Troubleshooting

My system freezes up. What causes that?
Almost always restricted airflow (dirty filter, closed vents, dirty coil) or low refrigerant. Shut the system off, run the fan to thaw it, replace the filter, and if it refreezes it's a service call.
Why are some rooms hotter than others?
Usually duct sizing, return-air starvation or leaky duct runs in a hot attic — not the equipment. We measure static pressure to find out before anyone talks about a new system.
What temperature should I set in summer?
78–80°F while home is the efficient range, with a small setback while out. Setting it to 68° doesn't cool faster; it just runs the compressor longer than it can keep up with.
